CoreGiving Day Success Demonstrates the ‘Power of our Platform’
The nationwide event provided more than 150,000 meals to help bring an end to child hunger
New York – SEPTEMBER 27, 2021 – On September 23, more than 400 Link Logistics employees joined forces with colleagues from Blackstone and 10 other of its portfolio companies to volunteer at food banks across the country in an effort to end childhood hunger as part of CoreGiving Day 2021. CoreGiving is Link’s philanthropic undertaking and part of a dedicated effort to fight against childhood hunger through both fundraising and volunteer time.
“This—what we’ve been able to do today—is the power of our platform,” said Luke Petherbridge, chairman and co-founder of CoreGiving and CEO of Link, at the end of the Chicago team’s shift at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. “Our mission has always been to ensure children have access to the food they need for a better, healthier tomorrow. CoreGiving Day is a celebration of those efforts and an opportunity to volunteer our time to support our communities.”
CoreGiving Day volunteers prepared over 150,000 meals across 24 different sites in the United States. This year, CoreGiving has raised more than $1.5 million dollars for local food banks to address food insecurity. With every dollar raised resulting in five meals, this year CoreGiving has provided more than 7.5 million meals to children in need.
